Going Fishing In A Sea Of Socks

I like using those zipper garmet bags to keep dirty socks in. When used faithfully, it keeps everyone's socks together and separate from everyone else's. It is not fool proof. We've had some broken zippers and some little boys that can't keep up with their own bag.

So..we had a crazy amount of mis-matched socks to pair. A whole basket full! So my kids put the basket in the middle of the floor and gathered around. All the ones that were big enough played "Sock Go Fish". They mixed up the socks, closed their eyes, and each one pulled out 5 to start with.

There was so much laughter as they asked, "Does anybody have a blue Hanes?"
"How 'bout a short sock with a pink stripe?"

In no time most of the orphan socks had their partner.
