Sharing testimony is also telling what God is doing now. This week I was talking to a friend who is going to be a leader in her MOPS group this year. She was excited about being able to share with other women what God is doing in her life. That's her testimony of now.
My pastor had a tremendous message last week. It was wonderfully from the heart. Not polished or perfected. Just what was going on in his life and what God was doing with it. Very personal, very real, very effective. That's his testimony of now.
We all have a platform of some sort. If you're married, your husband is your first ear. Then your kids, then you branch out from there. The possibilities are endless....friends, neighbors, church, blogs.
Spreading the word about Jesus today is just as sweet a testimony as telling about that first meeting. I love hearing about what God is doing in the lives of my friends. I love telling (and blogging) about the Lord's activity in my life. When we share our testimony of now it also opens up our hearts to others.
So what's my testimony of now??
I was in awe today of God's creation as we drove to CO Springs to go camping with family. The mountains and clouds were beautiful. We saw cows, horses, and even a llama (!) grazing in the countryside. Driving back home, we drove through a thunderstorm. I LOVE thunderstorms. The car was full of happy, tired kids. Worship music playing throughout the car. My life is so full of goodness.
The Lord is teaching me to be content in all things. I am terribly discontent with change. Things are still good even if they're not the same as what I'm used to. Paul is a good example, and Moses, and my mother-in-law. Philippians is Paul's letter of joy thanking the church for a gift while he was in prison. Never complaining but always at peace no matter what the change.
That's how I want to be.
Hopefully someday I'll get it. And when I do, I will share it as my testimony of now.
